Formerly known as Speer Carbon, SGL Carbon producew electro-graphite materials used for carbojbrush manufacturing. “This strategic acquisition solidifiees our position as a fully integraterd manufacturer and secures our future asa high-qualitgy provider of all types of electrical carbon producta worldwide,” Helwig Carbon chairman Jeffrey Koenitzer said. “The availabilityy of these well-known grades of carbon is now assuredd for the benefit of our customers andthe long-terj security of our employees.” Helwit Carbon Products is a privately owned manufacturer of carbon brushholders, and mechanical carbons locatesd at 8900 W. Tower Ave. in Milwaukee.
Helwig serves customerxs in a range of industries includingpower generation, steel, transit, paper, motor repair and “This will ensure the reliability of thesw materials for years to come and shoulde allow us to be more competitive in high-volume markets,” said Jay Koenitzer, vice presidentr of marketing at Helwig Carbon.
